Healthy Holiday Hustle 2016: Hustle for Addy (and the Babies!)

On september 30, 2016, Addison grace janssen was born…

weighing 15 ounces at 23 weeks. Her parents, Kris and Jenny Janssen, were at her side every day in the hospital, comforting and fighting for their little baby girl with an incredible strength on one of life’s greatest rollercoasters. She was beautiful, a fighter, a true Janssen at heart. One month after Addy came onto this earth she became an angel in heaven. Although she lived a short life, she will forever stay in our hearts and will always be remembered by her family and friends as the beautiful gift that she was, a testament of love and a symbol of strength.

Watching the Janssens go on this heartbreaking journey was difficult and those close to them didn’t know what to do. On the 3rd anniversary of the Healthy Holiday Hustle, we decided to Hustle for Addy and support March of Dimes. There are 15 million babies, like Addy, who are born premature in the world each year. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Friends and family of the Janssens came together in an incredible effort to remember this little angel. Over the course of 38 days and we were able to raise $7,811 in Addy’s name through 80 donations.

Since the 2016 Hustle, the Janssens were able to go on and have a healthy baby boy, Maxwell Janssen, born on May 16, 2018.

The Holiday Hustle became a true testament as to the difference a group of people can do when they come together and HUSTLE for a cause…(and for the babies!)
